The Seminar on Strategies and Opportunities under the Belt and Road Initiative Opens Next Week

The Seminar on Strategies and Opportunities under the Belt and Road Initiative - Leveraging Hong Kong's advantages, Meeting the Country's needs, jointly organized by the Hong Kong Government and the Belt and Road General Chamber of Commerce will officially open at the the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on February 3.  One the evening of that day, the Belt and Road Culture Gala "Set Sail" will be held at Beijing Reignwood Theatre. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, will attend this seminar, as confirmed by the Office of the Chief Executive of Hong Kong on January 26th.

Over 700 attendees from the political, business, and culture sector in Hong Kong and Mainland China will jointly discuss the implementation of Belt and Road Initiative in the areas of finance, professional services, commerce and trade, etc. The seminar will promote to the relevant Mainland ministries and state-owned enterprises ways to make use of Hong Kong's highly internationalized platform and distinctive edge in those areas and forming strategic partnership to jointly pursue the opportunities being brought about by the Belt and Road Initiative.

As one of the initiators of this seminar, Mr. Yanbin has been supporting the development of Belt and Road Initiative with practical deeds. In the area of investment, He has helped putting in place the Commerce and Trade program of the Belt and Road Initiative in Southeast Asia. Also in 2006, Mr. Yanbin initiated the "Silk Road Journey" One Belt One Road Photography Exhibition and the exhibition has been held in fourteen countries and regions including China, the UK, Singapore and the USA, etc, with a view to enhance the understanding by people from countries along the Silk Road of the Belt and Road Initiative.
