On June 23, to commemorate International Olympic Day, the "Cheers for the Olympics" series of events officially launched with a ceremony at Reignwood Pine Valley in Beijing.
This year marks the Paris Olympic year, and Reignwood Group, in partnership with "Cheers for the Olympics," will kick off a variety of Olympic-themed activities, including sports competitions, art exhibitions, calligraphy and painting exchanges, basketball charity events, and street dance showcases. During the launch ceremony, participants enjoyed an Olympic-themed creation workshop led by a talented group of artists, an Olympic cultural and art exhibition, and the qualifying rounds for the 2024 Reignwood China Women’s Elite Tournament. The Olympic-themed creation workshop will run for a week, and the Olympic cultural and art exhibition will open to the public starting June 23.
For the past 40 years, Reignwood Group's corporate spirit has been closely aligned with the values of the Olympics. In 2008, Liu Lina and Reignwood Star competed in the equestrian events at the Beijing Olympics. In 2016, Feng Shanshan, a signed athlete of Reignwood, took to the podium at the Rio Olympics, marking a new milestone for Chinese golf. Over the years, Reignwood Group has been a strong advocate for China’s Olympic dream. It has established the Olympic Development Fund dedicated to advancing Chinese sports development and nurturing talents.
Since its establishment 40 years ago, Reignwood Group has proudly stood alongside the Olympics, actively embodying Olympic spirit and contributing to the development of China’s Olympic initiatives. In 2000, with the backing of the Beijing municipal government, Reignwood Group proposed the formation of an Olympic support delegation and organized China’s only grassroots support group to travel to Moscow, rally support for Beijing’s Olympic bid. In the run-up to Beijing’s successful bid in 2001, and with the approval of the State Council, two giant pandas, ‘Wenwen’ and ‘Benben,’ sponsored by Reignwood Group, journeyed from Beijing to Russia as cultural ambassadors for the Olympics. Their exhibition in Moscow fostered friendship between the people of China and Russia and played a significant role in bolstering Beijing's efforts to secure the Olympic Games.
In 2018, we established the Reignwood Olympic Sports Club, aimed at promoting green and healthy development through sports. Chairman Yan Bin is one of the nine business representatives on the Beijing Winter Olympics bid committee. With the ambitious vision of ‘300 million people participating in ice and snow sports’ unfolding, Reignwood Culture Foundation continues to spread the Olympic spirit and ice and snow culture through a wealth of cultural activities. This year, as we kick off another Olympic season, the "Cheering for the Olympics" initiative presents a wonderful opportunity to connect Reignwood Culture Foundation's philanthropic mission with the inspiring spirit and culture of the Games.
