On October 1st, the opening ceremony of the "Meeting the Great Wall" photography exhibition, hosted by Reignwood Culture Foundation, took place at Reignwood Pine Valley in Beijing. This exhibition is an important part of the Group's series of activities celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China . It not only showcases the long history and brilliant culture of the Chinese nation but also presents a tribute to the anniversary of the motherland through photographic art.
The Great Wall, one of the most important spiritual symbols of the Chinese nation, has stood for thousands of years, witnessing the nation's prosperity and resilience. This photography exhibition beautifully merges the breathtaking landscapes of the Great Wall with its rich cultural heritage, showcasing its majesty and significance to the world. This exhibition not only highlights the unique allure of Chinese culture but also allows the audience to truly experience the indomitable spirit and perseverance of the Chinese people.
This photography exhibition features a selection of works by internationally renowned photographer Michael Yamashita. Through his unique visual storytelling, he captures the essence of the Great Wall of China. From the "Silk Road Journey" to the "Great Wall Album," he has collaborated with Reignwood Group on a number of culturally significant projects that deepen global understanding of Chinese culture and foster the exchange of ideas between different civilizations. In 2015, Chairman Yan Bin, learned that Michael Yamashita was the first photographer to retrace both the maritime and overland routes of the Silk Road, based on historical records, capturing an impressive 350,000 precious images along the way. These works have been praised as "treasures of the Silk Road historical archive."
Since 2016, the "Silk Road Journey – Belt and Road Photography Exhibition," organized by Reignwood Culture Foundation, has toured globally, reaching various countries and regions, including China, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Singapore. It has also been showcased at significant international events such as the "Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum, acting as a new platform for people-to-people exchanges and fostering cultural communication between the East and West.
The exhibition site also features the display of the 30 years of ecological restoration achievements at the Reignwood Pine Valley, the venue for this photography exhibition. From barren hills to a thriving oasis, the Park, located at the foot of the Great Wall, not only witnesses the Group's significant contributions to ecological civilization but also serves as an important platform for showcasing and preserving the culture of the Great Wall. Visitors can not only take in the stunning views of the Great Wall but also immerse themselves in the Park's distinctive natural landscapes and cultural atmosphere, embracing the inspiring vision of harmony between people and nature.
