In the evening of May 25 (London Time), 10 Trinity Square, a Grade II* listed building in London, welcomed its grand opening ceremony.
A splendid outdoor symphony concert, with its theme of “When East Meets West” was held in the Seething Lane Garden located on Ten Trinity Square to recall the past seven years of hard work and efforts in restoring the landmark building and to celebrate the historical moment of the 10 Trinity Square stepping into a new era.
At the concert, the London Symphony Orchestra, together with Dr. Chanchai, Chairman of Reignwood Group, Andrew Parmley, Mayor of the City of London, Plácido Domingo, the King of Opera, Yan Shouping, the Jinghu (Peking Opera fiddle) master, and Hu Wenge, the Peking Opera master, performed on the stage. The programme includes music from Handel’s Water Music, the Sound of River Thames, pieces inspired by water, the solemn and emotion-fuelled opera Nemico della Patria, the Peking Opera The Taking of the Tiger Mountain, which features powerful voices and impressive stage performance, and the Mei School Peking Opera, Guifeizuijiu (The Drunken Beauty). Striking the audience with the collision and integration between traditional Chinese music and western symphony, this concert was gradually pushed to a climax.
