Chairman Yan Attends the 3rd China-ASEAN Chambers of Commerce Leaders Summit and Makes a Keynote Speech

The 3rd China-ASEAN Chambers of Commerce Leaders Summit was held from September 13th to 14th in the southern city of Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Nearly 300 business and association leaders, experts and scholars from China and ASEAN countries attended this forum. Mr. Yanbin, Chairman of Reignwood Group attended this forum and made a keynote speech. This forum is of great significance in promoting China-ASEAN trade and commerce exchange and cooperation.

Mr. Wang Yongqing, vice chairman of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Xu Shaochun, Standing Committee Member of CPC Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Head of United Front Department, Lin Huaiyong, Deputy Secretary of the United Front Work Department of Party Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region , Mr. Xiong Chunhan, Secretary of Party Committee of the Autonomous Region Federation of Industry and Commerce and other guests attended this forum.

This forum was co-hosted by the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and China Overseas Friendship Association. The theme of this forum is “Co-building and Sharing of New International Land and Maritime Trade Routes and Promote Impact Investment and Sustainable Development”. Focusing on building new international land and maritime trade routes, promoting impact investment, and supporting production capacity cooperation and sustainable enterprise development, prospective discussions, industry promotion and projects docking activities were held at the summit.

This year marks the 5th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative. Over the past five years,  trade and investment liberalization and facilitation has been improved greatly, facilitating all-round opening-up by linking east and west, and connecting the land and the sea. Just one week ago, Chairman Yan attended the Symposium on “Review and Outlook” Fifth Anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative which aims at further leveraging Hong Kong’s advantage as the international financial center and its talent and technology advantages to promote the Belt and Road initiative.

At the forum, Chairman Yan pointed that the Belt and Road Initiative is our joint development opportunity and shared his views on fulfilling corporate social responsibilities and promoting new green development. In particular, Chairman Yan mentioned Reignwood‘s VOSS poverty alleviation project in Zhuxi Hubei Province which has helped double the local GDP as well as its ecological restoration and environmental protection projects for the 6500- Mu wind sandy land in Changping district of Beijing. He mentioned that green development is not only the future trend of development, but also has great business potential.

He also pointed that though there can be differences between enterprises in terms of scale and industry, there are no differences in actions of shouldering social responsibility and giving back to society. He called out both ASEAN and Chinese enterprises making overseas investments to observe local laws and regulations, respect local culture and pursue a green and sustainable development.
