The Hong Kong Belt and Road General Chamber of Commerce Visiting Delegation Went to Beijing to Discuss Hong Kong’s Prosperity and Development

From August 26th to 28th, the Hong Kong Belt and Road General Chamber of Commerce visiting delegation went to Beijing. Led by the honorary team leaders Peter Lam and Yan Bin, the delegation met with State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce Gao Yunlong, Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Bingnan and Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council Hao Peng to jointly discuss the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong. 

Wang Yi fully affirmed the contribution of the Hong Kong Belt and Road General Chamber of Commerce in promoting Hong Kong's participation in the country's "Belt and Road" initiative and in safeguarding Hong Kong's prosperity and stability. He encouraged the Chamber of Commerce to play its advantages and take positive actions to help Hong Kong's economic and social development and help local youth grow and become a useful person and make new contributions to driving Hong Kong's participation in national development strategies.

Regarding the situation currently faced by Hong Kong, Yan Bin believes that "where there is no country, there is no family. Where there is no stability, there is no prosperity. He spoke that at this special moment, all patriotic individuals should stand with Hong Kong and defend law and order and promote Hong Kong’s stability and prosperity.

On August 28th, Reignwood Cultural Foundation and Silk Road Planning Research Center jointly held a "Cultural Lunch for Jointly promoting Hong Kong's Prosperity and Stable Development". Chen Yuan, Vice Chairman of the 12th National Committee of the CPPCC and Chairman of the Silk Road Planning Research Center and the Hong Kong Belt and Road General Chamber of Commerce visiting delegation to Beijing attended this lunch.

The cultural lunch was held at Reignwood Theatre. As the venue for the "Set Sail" cultural evening party of the General Chamber of Commerce, and residence of the Hong Kong and Macao Committee members of the NPC and CPPCC, Reignwood Theatre once again witnessed the development of the General Chamber of Commerce.

Since its establishment in 2018, the General Chamber of Commerce has been leveraging the advantages of Hong Kong to serve the country’s needs. It has joined hands with the industrial and commercial people of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, to establish a platform for exchanges and cooperation in the fields of culture, economy and trade, and to continue to promote the building of the Belt and Road Initiative.
