Reignwood Joins Hands with China Peking Opera Art Foundation to Promote Peking Opera Revitalization

On March 20th, Beijing Reignwood Culture Foundation and China Peking Opera Art Foundation signed a strategic cooperation agreement at Reignwood Theatre. The two parties will carry out in-depth cooperation in the revitalization of Peking opera, the inheritance and preservation of Peking Opera art, connect their respective resources, and jointly promote Chinese fine traditional culture. The Peking Opera Revitalization Youth Inquired-based Class was also officially launched on the same day.

According to the agreement, the two parties will carry out projects related to the inheritance and protection of Peking Opera art based on the principle of equality and win-win cooperation, including the training of young actors, the excavation of outstanding repertoires, the protection, inheritance and international exchanges of various genres of art. Also, a Peking Opera art practice base will be established in Reignwood Center to select outstanding repertoires and allow outstanding young actors to perform here. Besides, a project promotion office will be set up to be responsible for the daily work of cooperative projects.

On the day of the event, the launch ceremony of the Peking Opera Revitalization Youth Inquiry-based Class was held. At the ceremony, live performances were given by the invited youth performer, well-known artist and entrepreneur, to enhance the awareness and ability of young people in carrying forward Peking Opera art, and foster their deep national emotion.

The China Peking Opera Art Foundation was established in 1992 as a national public foundation with the purpose of revitalizing Peking Opera. Beijing Reignwood Culture Foundation was established in 2011. Over the past decade, it has been committed to the protection and inheritance of tangible and intangible cultural heritages, youth education and training, and promotion of international cultural exchanges. It has successively created a series of unique cultural brands such as When East Meets West, Beautiful China, Silk Road Journey, and The Centenary Anniversary of Peking Opera Masters. This strategic cooperation will play an important role in promoting the excellent Chinese traditional culture, enhancing cultural self-confidence, and promoting the inheritance and development of opera. At the same time, it will promote the all-round development of young actors.
