In the evening of May 25 (London Time), 10 Trinity Square, a Grade II* listed building in London, welcomed its grand opening ceremony.

A splendid outdoor symphony concert, with its theme of When East Meets West was held in the Seething Lane Garden located on Ten Trinity Square to recall the past seven years of hard work and efforts in restoring the landmark building and to celebrate the historical moment of the 10 Trinity Square stepping into a new era.

At the concert, the London Symphony Orchestra, together with Dr. Chanchai, Chairman of Reignwood Group, Andrew Parmley, Mayor of the City of London, Plácido Domingo, the King of Opera, Yan Shouping, the Jinghu (Peking Opera fiddle) master, and Hu Wenge, the Peking Opera master, performed on the stage. Striking the audience with the collision and integration between traditional Chinese music and western symphony, this concert was gradually pushed to a climax.

Built in 1922, the 10 Trinity Square, well-known as the former Port of London Authority, has undergone seven years of restoration, renovation and upgrading, and now has been converted to a harmonious unity of the Four Seasons Hotel, private residences and club.Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square is located in the City of London – the world’s financial centre and the oldest part of London, just steps from the Tower of London, Tower Bridge and River Thames. Since its opening in January in 2017, this hotel has been sought after by world travel fans and business travellers. It is rated by the British newspaper the Times as one of the most notable hotels across the UK in 2017 and boasts a high occupancy rate. Besides its five-star standard, advanced software and hardware facilities, this hotel also features a cultural atmosphere which incorporates both eastern and western culture. For example, there are two destination restaurants; La Dame de Pic from acclaimed three Michelin-starred French chef Anne-Sophie Pic, and a flagship Asian restaurant serving contemporary Japanese and Chinese cuisine; and a 1,700 square meter Spa Centre which reflects the architecture of London’s ancient Roman history.

This is the first real estate project in UK where a Chinese enterprise taps into the local resources to push its development, and successfully completing the overall business process of acquisition, transformation, brand integration, and operation. To perfectly deliver this monumental historic work, the Reignwood Group recruited world-class expert teams, either for its infrastructure, eletromechanical apparatus, interior designs or for the environmental protection and energy-conservation, ensuring that the building is delivered with the highest standard, with an aim to renew its past glory. This project is the most labor-intensive renovation project in London during the past ten years. It took 3.5 million hours to complete this project and 26,000 sensors, 75,000 metre pipeline and 1.32 million meter cables were installed in the building.

London is well-known for its long-standing club culture. The 10 Trinity Square Club is the first club in London built by Chinese people. It was established by a partnership forged between Four Seasons Hotels, Reignwood Group and Chateau Latour. This club was co-initiated by Dr. Chanchai, the chairman of Reignwood Group, Isadore Sharp, the founder of Four Seasons Hotels and Francois Pinault, the owner of Chateau Latour. The club will serve as a forum for business and other leaders from East and West to meet and share ideas about furthering international business and cultural links. It is established also to promote the basic concept that a responsible and inclusive capitalism is the key approach in strengthening trust and ties between the east and the west.

At the celebration dinner, the Voss Foundation of Reignwood Group held a charity auction. The money raised from the auction will help people living in poverty-stricken areas of Africa get access to clean water. The auction items are sponsored by Reignwoods friends from the culture circle, which include the photography work’ The Water and Sky Merge in One Colour’ by well-known photographer Yang Yuanxing, the manuscript sketch of ’ And Nights Bright Days’ by Chinese/British composer Raymond Yiu, the calligraphy work by well-known contemporary calligrapher Shao Bingren, and the autographed albums by Placido Domingo and the London Symphony Orchestra.

At the opening ceremony, Dr. Chanchai addressed that, “the completion and opening of the Ten Trinity Square not only exemplifies the Heath and Green Industry of Reignwood Group, but also marks an important milestone for Reignwood’s global and diversified strategy. It also exemplifies the successful alliance and cooperation between Reignwood Group and Four Seasons Hotels, and it is one of the fruitful achievements of the two countries’ cooperation during the “Golden Era” of China-UK relations. Under the context that the UK after Brexit is striving for its global development, and China under the “New Normal” is guiding the “One Belt One Road” framework, I believe that the Ten Trinity Square, this historic landmark building, will definitely serve as a key platform and bridge for economic and cultural exchange between East and West, making new contribution for deepening the China-UK relations during this “Gold Era”.

At the ceremony, Allen Smith, CEO of Four Seasons Hotels addressed that, “today’s grand opening ceremony is an important milestone. The Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square is a proof of a strong partnership between Four Seasons Hotels and Reignwood Group and we share the same vision for this project’s future development. London has been the first choice for the world’s most critical leisure and business passengers. While expanding our business in this critical market, the Ten Trinity Square is a perfect complement for properties at the Park Lane. “
