Core partnership established between Reignwood Group and London Symphony Orchestra

 To strengthen friendship and cooperation between China and UKIn October 2016, Reignwood Group and the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) announced their three-year core strategic partnership starting from 2016 to 2019. The two sides will hold a series of exchange events involving Chinese and Western cultures, music and education.

Recently Reignwood Group and the London Symphony Orchestra have jointly presented two concerts to celebrate the beginning of their cooperation. The LSO, world-renowned conductor Gianandrea Noseda and four contemporary Italian opera singers presented a spectacular concert at the Barbican Concert Hall. Kathryn McDowell, Managing Director of the London Symphony Orchestra, praised Reignwood Group's devotion to global music and arts education, and warmly welcomed Reignwood Group to form a new alliance with the London Symphony Orchestra as its core partner.

Reignwood Group has been committed to promoting cultural exchange between East and West and initiated the cultural campaign "When East Meets West" and many other platforms for cultural exchange. In spite of the general election, leaving the EU, inauguration of new Prime Minister and other facts happening in the UK during the "Golden Era" of China-UK relations, Reignwood Group unswervingly established a partnership with the London Symphony Orchestra with the objective to promote dialogued between the two countries through music, a language that knows no borders and to make every effort to contribute to the development of Sino-British relationship.

In the next three years, Reignwood Group will host several concerts together with the London Symphony Orchestra in which more Chinese musicians including Lang Lang, Wang Yujia, Chen Yilin, and Zhang Xian will perform with musicians from the London Symphony Orchestra. With full support from Reignwood Group, the London Symphony Orchestra will start its China tour in February 2017 and give performances in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing and other cities in partnership with Chinese musicians.

In addition, Reignwood Group will continue to assist in the development of the London Symphony Orchestra's digital education platform for children and teachers to provide global online music educational resources - LSO Play and LSO iTunes U, which will also organize a series of events relating to non-profit music education in London and Beijing to promote the development of this world's universal language.

The prestigious London Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1904, is the oldest of London's symphony orchestras representing the highest performing standards in the UK, which is known as one of the world's top five orchestras. In September 2015, Reignwood Group and the Orchestra successfully held a concert to commemorate the 70th anniversary of VJ Day and the end of World War II. Vice Premier Liu Yandong and Ambassador to the UK Liu Xiaoming were present and gave speeches. The combination of Chinese operas with Western symphonies proved to be a milestone in the history of cultural exchange between China and the western countries, which has received wide recognition from the international community. Seeing the profound influence of their cooperation, Reignwood Group and the London Symphony Orchestra has decided to continue their efforts to contribute more to the development of world music.
